Texas Accountants & Lawyers for the Arts

Thames Royal Media worked with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA) on a brand refresh in Fall of 2022.

TALA is an arts service nonprofit that pairs volunteer lawyers and accountants with artists and arts nonprofits to help meet their business needs. Services include lawyer and accountant pro bono assistance for artists, patent pro bono assistance for inventors, dispute resolution services, and educational programs for the artistic and business communities. Programs are designed to help participants apply sound business practices to protect intellectual property, advance careers, and develop income.

TALA did not have set brand guidelines and struggled to create content that was recognizable to their audience. Thames Royal Media stepped in to solidify brand colors, select brand fonts, create button logos, and produce a brand guidelines sheet. From there TALA requested that Thames Royal design additional brand assets using the new guidelines.

The Process

First Thames Royal Media did a deep dive on TALA’s existing brand assets, which in this case was a logo and a few rack cards produced by another designer. Using those as a baseline, TRM did color psychology research and color analysis to select a palette. TRM also created a custom gradient of TALA’s brand colors to use across their branded items. The color palette and the gradient strike a balance between the professionalism of lawyers and accountants and the creativity of artists.

Refreshed Brand Assets

Once the design elements were approved, Thames Royal created a brand guidelines PDF, branded letterhead, and branded PowerPoint slides.
